LOT 185 ''PROTRERO HILLSIDE'' -We do not believe painting is lined; painting with fresh colors; a visible buckle in canvas at under left, emanating from under left corner of canvas -Some of the pigments used in this painting appear darker under U.v.. light than surrounding pigments. These include pigments used for the street, the outline of the rooftop, some of the greenery, and other areas. We believe this variation in hue under U.v.. light is due to the pigments used, not due to restoration. -There are some surface scratches in sky and at under right -There is an approximate 3/4 in. linear area of paint loss at center right -There are varnish inconsistencies in sky; on natural light, there is some yellowish varnish visible -Smaller localized areas that appear darker under U.V. light we also believe is due to pigments used, or possibly areas that were re-worked by the artist, rather than due to the restoration
