Condition Report

The sheet is affixed to the mount with two tabs at the upper horizontal edge. The sheet has a deckled edge. The sheet undulates very slightly but otherwise appears sound. There is a strip of old adhesive tape along the upper horizontal edge. There are pinholes around the edges of the sheet, thought to be inkeeping with the artist's working method, and only visible when viewed out of the frame. There is some light surface dirt around the edges of the work, only visible when viewed unframed. There is some very slight discolouration to the overmounted edges, and the red pigment appears to have discoloured very slightly. Otherwise there are strong and vivid colours throughout, and the work appears to be in very good overall condition. The work is window mounted and presented in a gilt frame, held under glass. Please telephone the department on +44 (0) 207 293 6424 if you have any questions regarding the present work.
