Cecil ffrench Salkeld ARHA (1904-1969) PASTORAL IDYLL signed and dated [December 1927] lower right; inscribed "A/iv R. Boyd-Morrison with best wishes" lower left etching 17 by 14cm., 6.75 by 5.5in. Robert Boyd Morrison (1896-1969) was a Belfast born artist and theatrical designer, who in 1927 commissioned Salkeld to submit costume designs for his book The Robes of Thespis, 1928, of which Morrison was co-editor.
