In recognition of her solo exhibition at Asprey Jacques in London, and for representing Britain at the 10th Indian Triennial, Catherine Yass was short listed for the Turner Prize in 2002. Since graduating with an MA in Fine Art from Goldsmiths College in 1990, Yass has become best known for her experimentation with methods of photographic processing and for her work in film. Yass's work has been widely exhibited at galleries including the Hayward Gallery, the Serpentine Gallery and the Tate Gallery, as well as internationally in New York, Moscow, Delhi, and China. In 2005, Yass took up a British Council Residency in China. Her work can be found in a number of public collections including the Victoria and Albert Museum, the Tate Gallery, and the British Council.
