Notes

Josuë Dupon (born in Ichteghem/Belgium in 1864) first studied in Rousellaere, later he went on to study at the Academy in Antwerp under Baron de Vinçotte (1850-1925). Dupon competed for the Prix de Rome for which he received a second prize award and became professor at the Academy of Anvers. He received a bronze medal at the Exposition Universelle in 1900. In 1930 he designed a bronze plaque for the Exposition Internationale in Antwerp on which he depicts the same horse with the female figure as the lot on offer. Dupon's works are in the collections of museums in Barcelona, Bucharest and Antwerp.

Christie's charges a Buyer's premium calculated at 23.205% of the hammer price for each lot with a value up to €110,000. If the hammer price of a lot exceeds €110,000 then the premium for the lot is calculated at 23.205% of the first €110,000 plus 11.9% of any amount in excess of €110,000. Buyer's Premium is calculated on this basis for each lot individually.
