Lot 1360: CARLTON C. FOWLER (American, 1877-1930) "FIFTH AVE AT TWILIGHT"

Outstanding large oil on canvas mounted on board scene shows busy wide New York street at dusk. Double street lights line the street on both sides with many vehicles. A green tour bus comes toward viewer with people on second level. Two American flags fly off building on right and people are seen on sidewalks. Turquoise sky. Signed lower left "Carlton C. Fowler". Small name plaque with title and artist name at base of frame. Housed in a period gilt molded wood frame. A fine period painting of one of New York's famous streets.

Restoration in sky with inpainting. Otherwise very good.
