Lot 193: Carl W. Broemel (American, 1891-1984)

Camp Green S.C. Nov. 1918. Sanguine on paper, signed titled and dated in pencil in the lower right corner, the image size approx. 10-3/8" x 13-5/8", matted but not framed overall 17-1/2" x 21-1/2". The mat is glued down around the perimeter of the backing board, but not to the paper.

Surface soils, creases, tears at the edges, small tear near the upper left margin and small indentation. The paper is glued into the backing board, though puckering slightly at the lower right. The matting is adhered to the backing board around the perimeter, but is not attached to the paper of the drawing. Acidic matting and backing; no frame.
