CARL ERIC LINDIN (American, born Sweden 1869-1942); RALPH WHITEHEAD; Watercolor on paper, Byrdcliffe Colony, 1904; Matted and mounted in Byrdcliffe frame; Provenance: Estate of Gertrude McCall; Signed and dated; Sight: 5'' x 5 1/2''; Note: A label on the reverse states, ''Gertrude McCall. Painted by Carl Lindin & framed by Ralph Whitehead.'' Lindin was a member of the Byrdcliffe Colony. Gertrude McCall often visted the Whiteheads at their Byrdcliffe home White Pines; the scene depicted is likely the stream that runs down the hill beside White Pines.
