Blaas 1864, Oil on canvas, 65.5 x 48.5 cm, framed, (Rei)See Also: The Austrian Belvedere Gallery, Inv. 2608Arsenal Pantheon, Vienna: The Pantheon is the imposing space inside the Viennese Arsenal. The arched room contains 56 life-size statues of the famous Austrian commanders, who are depicted in arrara marble. All 45 frescoes were designed and carried out by Carl von Blaas. After 11 years his work was completed in 1872. The depiction of the slaughter of Zenta is one of the four large wall niche paintings. They are flanked by the Escalade on the left and Prince Eugene of Savoy's journey to Bosnia on the right.
