Notes

Carel de Moor was a member of the fijnschilders (fine painters), a group of Leiden artists, led by Gerrit Dou, who produced highly finished, almost polished, paintings. Carel de Moor worked under the instruction of Dou, Frans van Mieris the Elder and Godfried Schalcken.
