NOTES The present work is probably a ricordo of Procaccini's large canvas in the Church of San Sisto, Piacenza (executed circa 1604), of which another version, with some variants and of reduced dimensions, is in the Remogna collection, Borgosesia (see M. Rosci, Mostra del Cerano, Novara, 1974, p. 37).
