Condition Report

The artist's canvas has been strip-lined only along the tacking edges. On the reverse of the canvas there is a stain visible along the lower edge probably relating to previous exposure to water, and two small areas with adhesive corresponding to minor repairs. Ultra-violet light reveals notably intermittent scattered strokes of retouching parallel to the lower edge of the composition including above and below the signature, and numerous clustered tiny spots which appear mostly to be cosmetic retouching. This work is in good overall condition and ready to hang. Presented in a decorative gilt frame.
