upholstered chair, his left hand tucked inside his black coat, wearing white chemise, grey trousers and tied blue stock set in a wooden travelling case with burgundy velvet and ormolu slips rectangular, 157mm. (6 1/4in.) high Footnote: A portrait of Mrs. William Stuart by Basébé was exhibited at the Royal Academy in 1861 (no.839). This was presumably a pair to the present lot.
