Comprising a pair of cylindrical deep haisen (bowl for washing sakazuki) and a small rectangular tray, all decorated with a matching design of Korin-style crashing waves, lacquered in gold takamakie and gin-ishimeiji on a black ground, all signed in gold lacquer Ryushin; with tomobako titled and signed by the artist, Meiji sanju roku mizunoe-u nen roku gatsu (sixth month, in the year of Meiji 36 [June, 1903]), signed Umezawa Ryushin zo. The haisen 8.2cm x 14cm (3¼in x 5½in), the tray 11.3cm x 9.8cm (4½in x 3 13/16in). (4).
