Description

Classical inlaid mahogany and bird's-eye maple work table

attributed to michel bouvier (1792-1874), philadelphia, pennsylvania, 1810-1820

A rectangular top with outset ring-turned corners inset with ivory, above a case with two graduated drawers, the top drawer fitted with compartments, and a felted pull-out slide on the left, supported on a lyre pedestal on platform base with saber legs ornamented with ivory rondels ending in brass lion paw feet and casters; brass plaque engraved 'Presented to/ Trent Chapter/ D.A.R./ by/ Mary Scudder Jamieson/ Regent 1894.'.

Property of a Bucks County collector.

NOTE:
The Trent Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution was founded January 29, 1895 in Trenton, New Jersey. Mrs. Mary Scudder Jamieson was the organizing regent.

Condition Report

Age cracks to top. Front feet have old repairs. Back right foot has old repair to top scroll/volute. Cracks to veneer on back of lyre and front bottom right of lyre has an old repair.
