BORIS VASILIEVICH ZVORYKIN (RUSSIAN 1872-1932), "Red square", 1935, mixed media on paper, 10 1/2 x 8 3/4 in. (26.8 x 21.2 cm.), signed and dated lower right. One can note in this painting that the Imperial double-headed eagle stands above the Kremlin tower instead of the Communist red star, possibly alluding to Zvorykin's hopes for Russia from afar, having emigrated to Paris in 1921.
