Boris Bessonof Russian painting (Russian, 1862-1934), break in the clouds in a winter landscape, signed lower right "Bessonof", oil on canvas, remnant of French exhibition label verso "Cim[?]...Nom: ...de L'ouverage", 21-1/4 x 25-1/2 in.; early 20th century gilt wood and composition French style frame. Lined with wax and linen, retains original tacking edges, points of retouch in trees upper right corner with less than 2 percent of surface affected; frame with minor losses, repairs.
