John Galsworthy (1867-1933), c. 1930, full length, seated portrait of the novelist looking to camera with lit cigarette in his study at Grove Lodge, Hampstead, vintage sepia-toned platinum print, small blemish to lower right margin in blank area of image, pencil signed by the photographer to mount lower right, together with another vintage sepia-toned platinum print of the novelist in profile, seated and working on his manuscript of 'Maid in Waiting' in his study, 30.5 x 40.5cm, mounted with photographer's ink signature to mount lower right, both mounts with ink details to verso in a later hand.
