*Edis (Olive, 1876-1955). Sir James Dewar (1842-1923, chemist and physicist), c. 1904, three-quarter length, seated and in profile facing his bubble experiment in the Royal Institution, vintage sepia-toned platinum print, 37 x 28cm, slight horizontal crease to lower half of image and one small scratch near the subject's leg with small loss of photo surface, mounted with pencil signature of the photographer lower right, identity of the subject on a small piece of paper tipped centrally on to lower mount, mount a little spotted and soiled and lower corners bruised. (1)
