Bodo, Bela American/Hungarian (b. 1936) FAR MOUNTAINS-CALIFORNIA oil on canvas, framed signed: lower right H24" W36" *Artist biography: Bela Bodo was born in Hungary and studied at the Budapest Academy. He was tutored by Istvan Csok, Hungary's foremost artist at that time. Escaping from the Communist regime on his third try after being captured twice, Bela studied and painted in Paris. He came to the U.S. in 1957, making his home in California where he enjoyed instant success. His romantic impressionist landscapes demonstrate a sure understanding of brilliant color and light. He is also an accomplished musician and classical composer.
