Blanche McVeigh, Texas's finest artist in the medium of aquatint, began her art career with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at Washington University. She then studied at the Art Student's League in New York. She further pursued training in printmaking techniques under Doel Reed at Oklahoma State University. In 1931, McVeigh, Evaline Sellors, and Wade Jolly, founded the Fort Worth School of Fine Arts. McVeigh earned a national reputation as a master printmaker.
