Description

These lovely volume sof hand-colored natural history engravings is from Histoire naturelle des animaux articules. The work was completed by Emile Blanchard and Comte de Castelnau. It was published in Paris by Societe Bibliophile between 1850 and 1851.

Francis de la Porte, Count of Castelnau was a French traveler and naturalist. He became the consul of France in Melbourne, Australia. He traveled to the Americas and Africa and published important scientific information from these travels.
