Black Duck Decoy, Samuel J. Denny 1874-1953, Clayton, New York (Thousand Islands), c. 1910, solid body with characteristic horizontal eye groove, inset 1/2-in. dowel on bottom, flattened breast, inscribed "Denny 1910" in pencil on base, lead pad weight applied to bottom, old surface, (imperfections), ht. 6 7/8, wd. 5 1/4, lg. 17 in.

Condition Report

Wear and paint wear, more heavy to sides of body, bill tip and tail tip, possible repair with repaint on neck, old V-shaped repaired crack on bill, lightly hit by shot, couple shrinkage cracks on tail. The bottom also has the maker and date ID inscribed in green marker.
