A Lady, seated in a landscape, wearing white dress with red embroidery to the décollage and sleeves, red belt beneath her bust line fastened with a gold jewel, her brown hair upswept and dressed with strands of pearls, three-tiered pearl necklace, plum stole with gold embroidery and fringe draped around her arms, a gold chain wrapped around her left wrist and fingers, she holds a miniature in her right hand.
Signed on the obverse Ch. de Guerard fecit, gilt-metal mount, the reverse inscribed J. Bernhard Von/ Guerard/ (In France. Le Chevalier de Guerard).
