Description

a set of four, all oil on canvas, lunette-shaped These four small canvases are, like the preceding lot, bozzetti or more likely modelli (presentation pieces) for the artist's work in the chapel of the Palazzo Vidani-Caffarelli in Rome, datable to circa 1773-1774 (G. Sestieri, Repertorio della Pittura Romana della fine del Seicento e del Settecento, 1994, vol. I, p. 137).
