BENES Vincenc (22. 1. 1883 Velke Lisice near Chlumec n. Cidlinou - 27. 3. 1979 Prague) Ravine Watercolour on paper, 35 x 46,5 cm, mounted, glazed, undated, signed lower right. Czech painter, he studied under E. Dite and E. K. Liska at the Academy of Decorative Arts in Prague and then under V. Bukovac at the Prague Academy of Arts. He took part in the second exhibition of the ""Osma"" group of artists with whom he shared an interest in Expressionism and Cubism.
