Ben Carre (1883 - 1978) 30"x24" o/c she was about four years old. She was raised in the Los Angeles area and attended USC with a major in the education field. While working as a teacher in Santa Monica during the 1930's, Dorothy took instruction in watercolor painting from Millard Sheets and Dong Kingman. By the early 1940's she had quit teaching and was painting and exhibiting in art shows across the country with the California Water Color Society.
