The letter in her hand is addressed to her son, L.A. Besson, who was in Lyons, on business. Condition: "In fair to good condition. Glue lined canvas. There are wide horizontal lines of craquelure throughout the canvas (a number of which have been inpainted). There are scattered areas of overpaint overall with a 1 x 1"" area below and to the right of the" sitter's mouth as well as a similar area to the left of the sitter's mouth.
