Description

Baron Arild Rosenkrantz (1870-1964) Fredens Temple Oil on canvas Signed and dated '43 lower left 75cm x 100cm Arilde Rosenkrantz was born in Fredriksborg, Denmark and received his art education at the Academie Julian in Paris in 1888 and exhibited at the Salon del la Rose et Croix. In 1896 he worked at the Tiffany stained glass Studios in the United States. He moved to London around 1901 and executed twelve large panels for the ceiling in the dining room at Claridges Hotel, London, and made stained glass windows and bronze sculptures for a number of English churches and castles. In 1912, Arild Rosenkrantz met the creator of Anthroposophy, Rudolf Steiner and created with him the first Goetheanum in Dornach, Switzerland.
