Autographs: TELFORD THOMAS: (1757-1834) Scottish Civil Engineer. A.L.S., Thos. Telford, one page, 4to, London, 21st December 1824, to Jos. Lace, a solicitor in Liverpool. Telford informs his correspondent that it will not be possible to see him on the 28th and continues to discuss his travel arrangements to various towns including Cambridge, further suggesting that a meeting in Liverpool would be more convenient. He adds that he could also visit in January or February 'when I have to go to Ireland on public business'. In concluding he asks Lace to secure him comfortable lodgings at the Waterloo Hotel.
