Lot 555: Autograph - Federico Garcia Lorca

Highly esteemed Spanish poet, playwright, and artist (1898-1936) best known for such collections as Romancero gitano and Poeta en Nueva York. He was killed at the age of 38 by Nationalist partisans during the Spanish Civil War. Signed book: Bodas De Sangre. Madrid: Cruz Y Raya, 1936. Softcover, 6.5 x 9, 125 pages. Signed and inscribed on the title page by Lorca, "To my friend Gustavo Casali, with affection, Federico García Lorca," surrounding his signature and inscription with a budding vine coming from a one-eyed crescent moon. In very good condition, with some light foxing to fore-edges and top edges, small tears and partial separations along front joint, a couple small tears to spine and right edge of cover, and scattered toning and soiling to covers. Rare in any form.
