Est: $220 USD - $600 USDPassed
Affiliated Auctions & Realty LLCTallahassee, FL, USDecember 06, 2015

Item Overview

Description

Large framed chromolithograph by John James Audubon, printed by the Princeton Audubon collection. This limited edition series of 1500 prints were created in 1985 using the original Havell engravings. The printers used a direct transfer technique to create the most accurate reproductions of the original pieces. However, these modern lithographs are printed on acid free museum paper, ensuring their longevity. This image, plate 30, depicts a Vigors Warbler. The image is numbered and embossed with the Princeton seal. The image measures 9" by 18", the paper measures 25" by 38", and the frame measures 36.5 by 50. Despite a light scuff on the right center of the frame, the item is in very good condition. Third party shipping required, please call for shipping quote. This lot has a reserve.

DESCRIPTIONS: Items are described to the best of our knowledge and ability. However, descriptions are not intended to be definitive and should be thought of as opinions on the genuineness, authorship, attribution, provenance, period, culture, source, origin, or condition of the property. No statement made in item leads, descriptions, estimate or during the sale should be considered an assumption of liability or warranty. Lots or items that we deem to be questionable in nature will be described as "unauthenticated". Usage of this term does not imply anything other than our opinion.Items described as being sold "as-is" are being sold in their current state without any guarantee and can not be returned. If a guaranteed item is deemed not to be authentic by a panel of three competent authorities, a full refund of the purchase price and buyer's premium shall be the limit of liability of the auction company and or its representatives. Returns must be authorized and made within 10 days. Artworks described as a work by a specific artist fall into our highest tier of authenticity however, no qualified statement about the authorship is strictly implied. Artworks described as "attributed to..." are most likely, in our opinion, a work by the artist but there is less certainty expressed than in the terminology described above. Artworks whose authorship are described as "follower of..." an artist are thought to be in the artist's style and contemporary or nearly contemporary to the artist. Artworks described to have been done "in the manner of..." describes works done in the style of the artist but at a date that is not contemporary to the artist in question. Works described to be "after" a specific artist imply that the items are copies of known or unknown works by the artist in question. The term signed by and/or dated by the artist are believed to have been inscribed by the artist's hand. The term bears signature implies that the signature may have been added by someone other than the artist. Gems and Coins are tested at the gallery for authenticity and are guaranteed to be authentic. Autographs and autographed items are believed to be authentic, unless otherwise state. Bidders are encouraged to view the item in person or request additional photos or measurements prior to bidding. All graded and/or measured and mounted gemstones are examined in mounts.
