Overall the condition of the wood is good, with some wear and dirt to the surface consistent with age. There are a few minor losses, notably to four of the fingers of the proper right hand and three of the fingers of the proper left hand. The proper right arm is very slightly loose, but stable, in its rotation setting. There is wear to the gilding and polychromy throughout, with some minor areas of loss, notably to the bridge of the nose, to both upper arms, and to the proper left armpit. The figure is partially flattened at the back to facilitate attachment to a cross. There is a wood dowel on the reverse. A later gilt wood halo, which has some losses, can be inserted into the head. There is a loose old metal pin.
