Provenance: With the Private Collection, Montreal at 4700 Maisonneuve Blvd., Westmount in July 1971 Note: Information from the Museum of Fine Arts, Montreal transcribed by Mrs. Sarah Umanski (Dr. Rosengarten) in the typed note verso states that Sir Walter Scott organized a lottery of Allan's pictures including one called: "Tartar Robbers Dividing their Spoil" cited in Bryan's "Dictionary - Painters and Engravers," 1903, which may be this work
