Amalteo was the pupil and son-in-law of Pordenone. The rearing horses are reminiscent of those in the fresco in Vittorio Veneto (formerly Ceneda) representing The Justice of Trajan, on which Amalteo collaborated with Pordenone circa 1534-1536. (1)
