Attributed to Paul Philippoteaux (American, 1846-1923)

Allegorical Scene
Inscribed and dated "P. PHILIPPOTEAUX 1866" l.c.
Oil on canvas, 18 1/8 x 18 1/8 in. (46.0 x 46.0 cm), framed (circular liner).
Condition: Dent to the reverse with resulting protrusion with small paint loss u.r., craquelure, surface grime.

Condition Report

With a colourman's stencil from Emmanuel Chenoz, Paris, on the reverse. Also with the artist's death notice clipped from a French newspaper affixed to the reverse.
