depicting as follows: Haru: tane hitashi (Spring: soaking seeds); of a farmer handing bales of seeds to a man who stands in a running stream, three bales of seeds on the bank, Natsu: taue (Summer: rice planting), of farmers planting young rice plants in a stream, Aki: inekari (Autumn: rice harvesting) of farmers busy cutting and carrying the rice to women who thrash out the grain and tie up the sheaves, Fuyu: komeosame (paying tax in the form of rice), of farmers at work tying up and carrying off bales of rice, no publisher's mark, each unsigned
