Description

Attributed to Louis de Boullongne II (French, 1654-1733), two figures, one reaching arm extended; woman with kerchief, back and head turned, red crayon, c. 1720, 6" h. x 8 5/16" w. [There are many drawings still on the market that are reminiscent of Boucher, Boullongne did several of these achen drawings characterized by the strong, thick crayon lines used to accentuate motion and place in the form of the shadowing on the ground between the two figures] [Proceeds to the Paul W. Zimmerman Trust, which will benefit four fine art institutions.]
