Notes

VARIOUS PROPERTIES

Hendrick Danckerts, who was born and trained at The Hague, travelled to Italy in 1653 and later came to England in 1658 where he specialised in topographical paintings. He was much employed by King Charles II for whom he painted all the seaports in England and Wales and also the Royal palaces. He retired to Amsterdam in about 1679.
