Discolored varnish; bulge in forehead of sitter, to right and left of sitter's head due to repaired tears; stretcher marks visible along all edges; craquelure throughout; Under UV, 3 x 6 area of repaired and retouched tears in and around forehead of sitter; pindot retouches in face of sitter and in his hand; prior restoration visible under old varnish in background; two strokes of foreign pigment in lower right quadrant.

Framed: 35 1/2 x 31 1/4 inches.
