Condition Report

The canvas has a recent and firm relining. The canvas may have been slightly trimmed on either side. The paint surface has quite recently been cleaned, relined and restored and is in good overall condition. The largest repair is to a vertical 20 cm tear in the lower right corner. There are some associated old losses either side of this and to and around the asparagus. Apart from this most restoration is local in nature, mostly in the shadows and details of the still life, the margins and the background. The varnish is clear and even and the painting will not require further attention. Offered in a modern gilt wood frame in good condition
