A marriage portrait of Count Nicolas of Esterházy de Galántha (1775-1856) and his wife Marie Françoise, née de Baudry, Marquise de Roisin (1776-1845); he, in brown coat, white waistcoat and cravat, powdered hair and taking his wife's left arm; she, in white dress with blue stole draped around her arms and holding a pink rose in her left hand, falling gauze veil tied in her curling brown hair; tree and landscape background
on ivory
3½ in. (88 mm.) diam., gilt-metal frame, the border engraved 'Nicolas Comte d'Esterházy-Galantha-Forchtenstein, né à Vienne le 1.
