Medium: original lithograph. This fascinating work by Symbolist artist Ary Renan shows a young lady, perhaps personifying Vanity, attracted to her own reflection as a moth is drawn to a flame; note the way her dress resembles a moth. This impression on chine-collé paper was printed by Lemercier and published in Paris by Gazette des Beaux-Arts in 1895. Image size: 7 1/2 x 5 1/4 inches (190 x 133 mm). Signed in the plate, not hand-signed.
