This work was included in the exhibition Landscapes and Views of Indian Life which opened at the University of Lethbridge Art Gallery January 19, 1989 and subsequently at the Masters Gallery in Calgary AB on March 18, 1989. Jeffrey J. Spalding wrote ?Many of these works were created on the spot at some favoured special place while the artist awaited the arrival of a sitter for a portrait session. Unassuming and direct, they reveal another side to the personality of the artist sometimes concealed by the official face of the public portrait.'
