Arthur Lumley, Irish-American, 1837-1912, w/c, Couple in a Canoe on Lake, 9 1/2" x 13", dated '95. A landscape painter and illustrator, Arthur Lumley was the first artist sent to the Army of the Potomac by "Leslie's" to cover the Civil War. He exhibited at the National Academy of Design and held illustration positions in the United States and Europe.
