Condition Report

The painting is in overall good condition, with no extant damages or loss of paint. The canvas has been lined and the surface of the paint is stable and in good condition. Examination under ultraviolet light reveals two small areas of minor retouching in the tree, upper left, and scattered minor retouching an infilling in the sky. The painting has clearly been lightly cleaned in the past, however there are still the remnants of an old varnish, that is slightly opaque, overall. The painting is held in a carved and gilded Carlo Maratta style frame, and it is ready to hang with no need for conservation or restoration.
"In response to your inquiry, we are pleased to provide you with a general report of the condition of the property described above. Since we are not professional conservators or restorers, we urge you to consult with a restorer or conservator of your choice who will be better able to provide a detailed, professional report.
