Arnold Auerbach (British, 1898- 1979) The Pink House, Hampstead Heath, circa 1926 signed lower right watercolour over pencil 30 x 44cm Provenance: Purchased from the sale of the residual contents of Auerbach's studio in 1997. Upon leaving Liverpool in 1921, Auerbach moved to London, living for many years near Swiss Cottage. He exhibited work at the noted Chenil Gallery and achieved his first Royal Academy exhibit in 1923. This watercolour of The Pink House, Hampstead Heath is thought to date from around 1926, when Auerbach was working from his studio in Adelaide Road in Hampstead.
