Notes

Aristide Maillol's sanguine drawings are amongst the finest examples of sculpture studies of the late 19th and early 20thυ centuries. According to the label on the back of the frame from the 1994 Caracas exhibition, the drawing dates from 1936. The authenticity of this work has been confirmed by Olivier and Bertrand Lorquin.
