J. Danckerts (1635-1701), engraver, mapmaker and publisher followed German and Italian examples. Ill. with an engr. title and 40 engr. plates (complete corresponding to the digitised copy of the National Library of the Netherlands). Our copy contains plates from other works too: 6 leaves with engravings from Simon Bosboom's "Cort onderwys van de vyf colomen", and 6 engr. pl. showing architecture designs for garden pavilions engraved by Justus Danckerts after I. le Pautre. - Ref.
