Notes

Pavlos I, the third son of Constantine I (King of Hellenes) and his wife, Princess Sophia of Prussia, was King of Greece from 1947 to 1964. From 1917 to 1920, Pavlos lived in exile with his father, and from 1923 to 1935 and 1941 to 1946 with his brother George II. This portrait was most probably painted when he visited the United States.
